I’m going to point out again for those who don’t click links: This young woman was shot in the head and neck by the Taliban for speaking out on behalf of women’s rights in Pakistan.

She is fifteen years old. She is also still alive. It is likely that she will suffer lifelong language and coordination difficulties given where she was shot (left side of her head) but she hasn’t given up her fight.

While Islamic clerics in Pakistan have issued a Fatwa against the men who tried to murder her, the Taliban has re-iterated its intent to murder her and her father.

I can’t express how much of a hero this woman is. She’s only fifteen, and yet she’s faced such impossible odds, and she’s still fighting. I just wish there was something I could do to help her.

It’s symbolic, but it would send out a big message of support: nominate her for the Nobel Peace Prize.

I miss my old bestfriend

I say old because we aren’t friends anymore

Today in church the Pastor’s daughter talked about offense

People taking offense and the difference between reacting and responding

Looking back on why we stopped talking… I wanna say I have forgiven her but Idk if it’s true. I’m still irritated and hurt by it. I don’t like being disregarded but at the same time I can’t control what other people do.. only how I RESPOND to it.

His daughter also said that when we’re offended we often time want to focus on the negative, and dwell, and want to disconnect from the person or situation by cutting them off.

This is so true. I’m so quick to cut people off and I realize that. But in this situation I think I hurt myself more in the end by cutting her off. I lost a confidant, a sista, a supporter, and someone I genuinely loved and adored. While I realize I lost all of this it does make me wanna make up.

God knows my heart, and that I mean well. Again, I can’t help how others come off to me, only how I respond. Holding grudges ain’t my style anymore. I’m just very skeptical about being vulnerable about going back on my word and seeming weak. Weak is far from what I am, in fact I think it takes a strong person to forgive someone who they’ve felt like wronged them in some way.
